The leading Italian two-year-old Windstormblack punched his ticket for the Gr.2 Prix Robert Papin with an imperssive five-length win in the Gr.3 Premio Primi Passi over 1200m.

The Brazen Beau colt jumped well and nobody was able to live with his pace. Gabrille Cannarella pushed him clear and the brilliant colt cruised home five lengths clear from Baghed (Twilight Son), with The King’s Horses (Time Test) a further two and a quarter lengths away in third.

The winner is unbeaten, and unchallenged, in three starts. He clocked the 1200m trip in 1:09 flat, not far from the race record. His trainer Sebastiano Guerrieri commented: “On Monday morning I will enter him in the Prix Robert Pain. He is an unbelievable young horse, very relaxed and very fast. He has made the running in all his races, but I think he could be better with a lead. The problem is that nobody is fast enough for him.”

Windstormblack, a 17,500gns purchase at the Tattersalls Ascot Sale, is the eighth Group winner by the former shuttle stallion Brazen Beau. He is the third winner out of Josefa Goya (Sakhee’s Secret), who has a yearling filly by Adaay and a filly foal by Land Force.
