Quarry Wood with its quirky grottos, optional woodland ceremony setting, lawn overlooking the lake and dance pit is a fabulous setting for any event. From a bare-footed festival style event, to a traditional suited and booted wedding, Quarry Wood and Quarry Wood Lawn can accommodate either and everything in between.
Situated on the private part of the Estate, the wood with graceful mature trees is perfect for those wanting a woodland ceremony. Canvas canopies can be suspended to create a covered dining or dance area. The path continues through the wooded area opening out into a clearing where you’ll find an oval lawn, from which you look down onto the Lower Meadow and graceful swans swimming on the lake. The lawn is approximately 27m x 38m in size and can accommodate a large marquee for drinks, dinner and dancing. At one end of the lawn are a couple of grottos which look amazing lit up as it gets dusk and a secluded natural depression known as the dance pit, with a raised DJ platform – ideal for a silent disco.
Deer Park Barn, which is situated close by, is also available to use as a base for those hiring Quarry Wood.
Set in the stunning Wiltshire countryside, Quarry Wood is on the private part of the Fonthill Estate, near Fonthill Bishop. The Estate is situated 15 miles west of Salisbury close to the Dorset border, with easy access from the A303. The nearest train station is Tisbury, which goes into London Waterloo and is only a 10 minute car journey away from Quarry Wood.
